The Property

A beautiful tranquil property set in the heart of Loire Valley. We invite you to experience this lovely part of France and enjoy your holiday to its full, relaxing by the solar heated swimming pool, tasting the local foods and wines, and exploring this fascinating area steeped in rich history. There are many markets, cafes and brocantes to visit where you can mingle with the locals or just sit and watch the world go by.

La Ferme Du Miel is located in the village of Paulmy with its bar, Epicerie (where you can buy baguette, croissant, wine, cheese, other essentials including local produce). Opposite is a park with tennis court, football pitch and childrens play area. Paulmy is just 7 minutes south of Liguiel and 20 minutes west of the medieval market town and citadel of Loches.

These romantic gites of La Ruche and La Petite Ruche are set in 12 acres of woods, streams, orchards and fields with an 11 metre swimming pool to unwind and relax by.

Wine Tasting

There are many places in the area to taste the local wines, e.g. Vouvray, Chinon, Touraine Gamay.

Gastronomy

For a gastronomic delight, the famous LA PROMMENADE restaurant (Michelin star), run by Jackie Delai in La Petit Pressigny is a must, and just 15 minutes away, one of many fine restaurants in the area. We can provide a taxi service for you.

Baby Sitting

Baby sitting is available from a St Johns Ambulance certificated 'Young Life Saver' and there is a qualified nurse on the property.

Late Arrivals

We can offer an evening meal for those late comers - please ask for prices and special needs or we can book you a table in one of the local restaurants. Alternatively we can buy a selection of basic groceries for you.

Nature

The Brenne is a natural wild life reserve just 30 minutes south of us and is a delight to visit for a day out to picnic and observe the local flora and fauna.

Health and Beauty

Roche Possay, the famous spa town, is within easy reach of here for that extra special treat to pamper yourself with natural beauty products, sauna, facials and massage.

Local Information

Within easy reach of the Gites, are the famous Chateaux of the Loire valley along with the vineyards of the Touraine, Chinon and Bourgueil amongst others, where wines can be tasted and appreciated and perhaps purchased to take home as a reminder of the region.

There are many private chateaux for those interested in local architecture. Almost every village has a chateaux once owned by the landed gentry. Some can be visited and just 5 minutes away there is the moated castle of Chatelier complete with drawbridge.

Disneyland-Paris can be reached by car within two and a half hours and by TGV from Tour in one and a quarter hours. Futuroscope is one hour away in Poitiers and the Asterix Park can be reached by car in just three hours, to the north of Paris, on the A1.

Activities in the area include fishing, canoeing, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, golf, tennis, hunting and mushroom picking.
